Reading
1. Read ¡°From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler¡± up to p.87.  You should highlight the words that are unfamiliar to you, and look them up in the dictionary if they block your comprehension.
2. Compose twenty comprehension questions and corresponding answers.  You should make one or two questions out of each chapter.  Mark the pages and chapters for your questions.
3. Prepare for 15 word definitions in your workbook.
4. Make 10 flashcards following the directions specified in the workbook.
5. As you read, take notes of the plot and anything impressive or questionable so that you can present the story line when asked.

Essay
Choose a character that you think you would have acted differently if you were the person.  Then write two or three paragraphs describing what you would have done unlike the person in the book ¡°The Horse and His Boy.¡±  Any character in the book is available as long as you have enough ideas about what you would have done.
