The Pearl
Essay (due Jan 3): "The Pearl" is considered to be a parable loosely based on the legend of "Mechudo." Explain how the "pearl" transforms Kino from the beginning of the novel to the end. Then, explain how the parable of "The Pearl" is reflected in real situation either in history or current events.
The essay should be at least 400 words and no longer than one-page single-spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman, 1-inch margins.
